Thanks to the leadership, the key persons from each organization on post, active duty soldiers, retirees, and DA civilians, funds will help to support military families that encounter unforeseen emergencies.

To be eligible, an individual must fall into one of the following categories: an active duty soldier, an Army National Guard soldier on continuous active duty for more than 30 days; a soldier who retired from active duty for longevity or physical disability; an Army Reserve soldier who retired at age 60; a dependent; or a surviving spouse or an orphan of a soldier who died while on active duty or after retiring.

Assistance is provided in three ways: an interest free loan, a grant, or a combination of loan and grant. Categories for assistance: help with food, rent, utilities, emergency transportation and vehicle repairs; funeral expenses, medical/dental expenses; and personal needs when pay is delayed or stolen.
