 Army Family Team Building (AFTB)
  Fort Monroe AFTB Program

• AFTB is about mission and Family readiness.

• AFTB is helping empower Army Families through personal and Family preparedness, which enhances overall Army readiness.

• AFTB helps Families adapt to Army life by providing information about the resources available to Soldiers and Army Family members.

Learn…Grow…Lead

Level I – “Learn” Army
Transitioning from the civilian community to the Army is an important step and we all enter this Army life with some concerns:

  • Can I adjust to the new environment?

  • How will my life change and how will I adjust?

  • Will I meet others who feel like I do?

  • What are my benefits?

  • Where can I find the resources and services that I need?

Living within the Army culture can be as challenging as it is rewarding.  AFTB will help you learn how to translate the military lingo, develop realistic expectations, learn about your benefits, and access the services available to you as a member of the Army Family.

Feeling comfortable in your military environment empowers you and enables you to accomplish personal goals.  Learning about the Army leads to that level of comfort.

AFTB can help you “Learn” Army…meet others who know exactly how you feel…and help find your comfort zone…but…YOU have to take the first step!

  • Find out what makes you “tick” and operate the way you do
  • Identify your strengths and areas needing improvement
  • Share your experiences

Serving as a leader or mentor to others and stepping into leadership positions is an art that AFTB can help you master.
